SASKATOON – A hunter is facing charges after another hunter was shot earlier this week near Loon Lake, Sask.
RCMP say a 37-year-old man from the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation was shot Wednesday evening after leaving his hunting blind on the reserve.
He received a gunshot wound to his hip but was able to crawl to his vehicle and contact his family, who in turn notified police.
Loon Lake RCMP determined the shot had been fired from a nearby roadway where a truck had been seen.
RCMP said the driver of the truck had also been out hunting.
Glenn Cantre, 42, of the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation is charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and careless use of a firearm.
